IMPACT! Demo AVIs
-----------------------
Here are some neat little AVI files to demonstrate some of the
capabilities of IMPACT! These were thrown together rather
hastily, so please excuse the not-so-sophisticated texturing
and the limited AVI resolution. Descriptions of each AVI is
listed below. IMPACT is developed by Dynamic Realities and
can be purchased direct or through your local dealer. For
more information about IMPACT and other Dynamic Realities
products, such as our new particle system program which sports
an interactive real-time preview interface, call 1-800-944-5520
(USA only) or 414-798-9400. IMPACT is available for Amiga,
Intel (Windows/Windows NT), DEC Alpha, and MIPS. The particle
program will be available for all the previously mentioned
platforms except Amiga (Amiga is undetermined at this point in
time).
Descriptions (Alphabetical)
----------------------------------
BIGWALL.AVI - This nifty little animation was setup in a matter
of seconds. Using object duplicate in IMPACT, 200 bricks were
created and then placed into the wall automatically using one
of the included Algorithms (exponential). The ball was then
given an initial velocity heading towards the wall. Notice
there is no gravity in this scene (purposely left off for
effect). Voila!
BULLET.AVI - Same principle as BULLET.AVI; setup was a cinch.
This time the ball is given an intial velocity parallel to
the wall. Again no gravity for effect.
CUPOJAVA.AVI - This animation courtesy of Larry Mitchell.
Some balls were placed inside a hollow cylinder object and then
a rolling ball hits the cup making all the balls spill down a
stairway. Arbitrary collision detection is used for the stairs
and the cup. Elasticity is set very high on these objects, so
look out for really bouncy objects!
DEMHILLS.AVI - This animation courtesy of Larry Mitchell. Lots
of box objects traveling down an arbitrary shaped landscape
object. Gravity and full arbitrary collision detection at work
in this animation. Sorry for the lack of resolution on this
one, but it is a long animation.
IMPACT.AVI - Well, here is an IMPACT logo (arbitrary collision
detection) with hundreds of little pellets placed randomly
above (done in seconds using the Algorithm random). These
pellets randomly fall (again using Algorithm to randomly vary
'Become Kinematic Time') onto the unsuspecting logo below.
SPRING.AVI - This animation courtesy of Larry Mitchell. This
animation shows IMPACT's Spring Engine in use. Four poles are
suspending spherical 'links', each attached with a Spring
Engine. A rectangular block is dropped onto these links which
appropriately react and 'throw' the block off.
High elasticity on that block!
WALL.AVI - Another wall. This one has gravity turned on.
